Lacoste is an apparel company founded in 1933 that sells high-end clothing, footwear, perfume, leather goods,nike air jordan, watches, eyewear,ED Hardy shirt clothing, and most famously tennis shirts. In recent years, Lacoste has introduced a home line of sheeting and towels. The company can be recognized by its green crocodile logo.

Lacoste is headquartered in Paris. Lacoste currently has its production capital in Troyes, France, though they delegate production of international clothing to numerous factories in over 12 countries around the world, including those found in Peru, Morocco, Indonesia, Romania, and Italy. After a two year search in the Central American region, Lacoste established production for its U.S. customers in the Miramar Free Trade Zone in El Salvador. El Salvador operations will be managed by a new the local subsidiary, Textil El Salvador (TRANS).

René Lacoste founded La Chemise Lacoste in 1933 with André Gillier, the owner and President of the largest French knitwear manufacturing firm at the time. They began to produce the revolutionary tennis shirt Lacoste had designed and worn on the tennis courts with the crocodile logo embroidered on the chest. Although the company claims this as the first example of a brand name appearing on the outside of an article of clothing[1], the "Jantzen girl" logo appeared on the outside of Jantzen Knitting Mills' swimsuits as early as 1921[2]. In addition to tennis shirts, Lacoste produced shirts for golf and sailing. In 1951, the company began to expand as it branched from "tennis white" and introduced color shirts. In 1952, the shirts were exported to the United States and advertised as "the status symbol of the competent sportsman," influencing the clothing choices of the upper-class.

When he became president, around 300,000 Lacoste products were sold annually. The Lacoste brand reached its height of popularity in the US during the late 1970s and became the signature 1980s "preppy" wardrobe item, even getting mentioned in Lisa Birnbach's Official Preppy Handbook of 1980. The company also began to introduce other products into their line including shorts, perfume, optical and sunglasses, tennis shoes, deck shoes, walking shoes, watches, and various leather goods.

In the United States in the 1970s and 1980s, Izod and Lacoste were often used interchangeably because starting in the 1950s, Izod produced clothing known as Izod Lacoste under license for sale in the U.S. This partnership ended in 1993 when Lacoste regained exclusive U.S. rights to distribute shirts under its own brand. In 1977, Le Tigre Clothing was founded in an attempt to directly compete with Lacoste in the US market, selling a similar array of apparel, but featuring a tiger in place of the signature Lacoste crocodile.

More recently, Lacoste's popularity has surged due to French designer Christophe Lemaire’s work to create a more modern, upscale look. In 2005, almost 50 million Lacoste products sold in over 110 countries. Its visibility has increased due to the contracts between Lacoste and several young tennis players, including American tennis star Andy Roddick, French rising young prospect Richard Gasquet, and Swiss Olympic gold medalist Stanislas Wawrinka. Lacoste has also begun to increase its presence in the golf world, where noted two time Masters Tournament champion José María Olazábal and Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie have been seen sporting Lacoste shirts in tournaments.

Bernard Lacoste became seriously ill in early 2005, which led him to transfer the presidency of Lacoste to his younger brother and closest collaborator for many years, Michel Lacoste. Bernard died in Paris on March 21, 2006.

As of 2006, Lacoste licenses its trademark to various companies. For example, Devanlay owns the exclusive worldwide clothing license, Pentland Brands has the exclusive worldwide license to produce Lacoste footwear, Procter & Gamble owns the exclusive worldwide license to produce fragrance, and Samsonite holds the worldwide license to produce Lacoste bags and small leather goods.

In June 2007, Lacoste introduced their very first e-commerce site [3] for the U.S. market.

In the early '50s, Bernard Lacoste teamed up with David Crystal, who at the time owned Izod, to produce Izod Lacoste clothing. In the 1970s and 1980s, it was extremely popular with teenagers who called the shirts simply Izod. While the union was both profitable and popular, Izod Lacoste's parent company (David Crystal Co.) was saddled with debt from other business ventures. When attempts to separate Izod and Lacoste to create revenue did not alleviate the debt, Crystal sold his half of Lacoste back to the French and Izod was sold to Van Heusen.

However, starting in 2000, with the hiring of a new fashion designer Christopher Lemaire, Lacoste began to take over control of its brand name and logo, reigning in their branding arrangements. Currently Lacoste has once again returned to the elite status it held before a brand management crisis circa 1990.

Lacoste had a long standing dispute over the logo and clothing lines with Crocodile Garments. Crocodile Garments uses a crocodile logo that faces left while Lacoste uses one that faces right. The two fought for the logo rights in China, which was won by Crocodile Garments in 2003. Crocodile Garments in return agreed to change its logo to have a more vertical tail and more scales.[4]

Lacoste operates a large number of Lacoste boutiques worldwide; located as concessions in leading department stores and also as independent venue stores. In the United Kingdom, Lacoste is available from many leading high-end shops including KJ Beckett and John Lewis Partnership. Likewise in the United States, the Lacoste brand can be found in stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Belk, Halls, and other independent retailers. In Canada, Lacoste is sold at Harry Rosen, its own boutiques, and other independent retailers. In Australia, it is sold at David Jones, and Myer.

As of June 2007, Lacoste's online presence allows Americans to purchase clothing and have items shipped directly to their doors. The online store offers sizes and options not found in brick and mortar stores, along with a large sale section.

Lacoste is a very picturesque medieval village, well worth seeing, perched on the east end of a mountain spine rising up out of the plains between the Plateau de Vaucluse to the north and the Luberon to the south. The old village sits along the flank of a ridge, facing Bonnieux across the lower farmlands to the east.

The Mairie (town hall) of Lacoste has a fine old sundial built into the wall above the doorway. The ruins of the château at the top of the village date mostly 16th-18th centuries, but the walls go back to the 12th. The chateau of the Marquis de Sade is in ruins, and because of the bad state, it is no longer open to visitors. You can approach it, though, for a close look from the exterior.

The top of Lacoste is marked with the very medieval looking ruins of the Chateau-de-Sade; looking like a castle from a story book, and with a history even more sinister. The chateau ruins look great from a distance, and a close visit reveals moat-like passages and other interesting images. The chateau is undergoing slow renovation, which has closed it to inside visits, but it can be approached for a close look from the exterior. It's a fairly steep walk up to the top, but there is a road to the chateau from outside the village.

There's not much commerce here, but we found one nice cafe [photo] with friendly service, in the heart of the village. A few artists have ateliers Lacoste, including one sculptor with some excellent work. Art School

The School of the Arts in Lacoste was taken over in 2002 by Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). SCAD offers art courses, in English, in a variety of subjects. Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield Price (born on 22 May 1978),[1] also known as Jordan, is an English celebrity. She is a former glamour model and businesswoman. Her private life is regularly featured in British tabloids and celebrity-based magazines.

Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield[2] was born and raised in Brighton, England. Her second autobiography – Jordan: A Whole New World – detailing her wedding and family life — reached number two in the hardback general category, selling 198,105 copies by 1 April 2006.[19] Price's third autobiography Pushed to the Limit was released in February 2008.[20]

Her first ghostwritten novel, Angel, about a young woman who becomes a model, was published in June 2006, and sold 300,000 copies in six weeks.[citation needed]

Her second ghostwritten novel, Crystal, about a young woman's efforts to become a singer, sold 159,407 copies during the first three months after its release in June 2007.[21] All four books were ghostwritten by Rebecca Farnworth.[22][23]

In 2006 Price signed a ��300,000 advance with Random House for Katie Price's Perfect Ponies,[24] a series of *****ren's books, with the first 6 released in 2007. In October 2003, Price appeared in an advertising campaign for the supermarket chain Kwik Save. To publicise the chain's promotion to cut the prices of their leading lines in half, Price was sawn in half by magician Peter McCahon.[28]

In November 2006, Price launched The Katie Price Lingerie Collection in conjunction with Panache, available exclusively at Asda stores, as well as a follow-up jewellery deal with Argos.

In 2007, Price was announced as the new face of Foxy Bingo and launched a hair care range at Superdrug. She also brought out her first perfume, 'Stunning', in August. Her second perfume, 'Besotted', was released in September 2008. November 2007 saw Price releasing her 'Jordan' hair care electrical range at Superdrug. There was a hairdryer, straighteners and curlers. She released a second, similar range in November 2008 under the name 'Katie Price', to somewhat differing design.

In 2006 the famous private banking house Coutts & Co (bankers to the British Royal Family and to the rich and famous of British Society) refused to accept Price as a client, in spite of her estimated wealth.[32] Coutts are known to be extremely selective in whom they accept as customers and their criteria for acceptance is not solely based on their well-known requirement that their clients must have at least ��500,000 in 'disposable funds' - not including houses.[33]

The Mairie (town hall) of Lacoste has a fine old sundial built into the wall above the doorway. The ruins of the château at the top of the village date mostly 16th-18th centuries, but the walls go back to the 12th. The chateau of the Marquis de Sade is in ruins, and because of the bad state, it is no longer open to visitors. You can approach it, though, for a close look from the exterior.

The top of Lacoste is marked with the very medieval looking ruins of the Chateau-de-Sade; looking like a castle from a story book, and with a history even more sinister. The chateau ruins look great from a distance, and a close visit reveals moat-like passages and other interesting images. The chateau is undergoing slow renovation, which has closed it to inside visits, but it can be approached for a close look from the exterior. It's a fairly steep walk up to the top, but there is a road to the chateau from outside the village.

There's not much commerce here, but we found one nice cafe [photo] with friendly service, in the heart of the village. A few artists have ateliers Lacoste, including one sculptor with some excellent work. Art School

The School of the Arts in Lacoste was taken over in 2002 by Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). SCAD offers art courses, in English, in a variety of subjects. Courses vary each term, but could include painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, film, photography, historic preservation, art history, architecture, English, sequential art, graphic design, industrial design, media and performing arts, or fashion. Prehistoric: There are signs from the paleolithic era at Font-Pourquière, 1.5 km northeast of the village, and neolithic remains at the grotto of Combe-Buisson, Font-Pourquière and Bacquis, 1.5 km west.

Celto-Ligurian: In the 4th century BC, Entremont, 3 km north of the current town, was the fortified capital of the Salyens, the most powerful Gallic confederation in the region.

Medieval: Lacoste was part of the Simiane fief and in the 18th century belonged to the Marquis de Sade. Earlier, the village sided with the Reformists, and was besieged in 1545 by the Catholics, who celebrated their victory by massacring the inhabitants.

Transportation

The Apt--Cavaillon bus runs along the N100 road. The nearest stop is at the junction of the D36 and the N100, about 4 km north of Lacoste. You should get the current schedule from the Office de Tourisme in Apt or Cavaillon. There are about four busses a day, each way, in the summer.

Here are new images of the “Grape” colourway of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike.  The Air Jordan Spiz’ike had the previous colourway of Infra Red which was released last October.  These new images give us a better perspective on the shoe.  The top is generously tattered with perforations.  There is much more “grape” in the shoe, which covers the wing eyelets and the outsole.  The elephant print which was previously white is now grey.  These will be a great addition to any Air Jordan collection.  Retro is really coming back.  The release date is still a bit sketchy to watch out for more updates and possibly another colourway real soon.

Summer of 2010 will mark the release of the new Air Jordan IX, which sports a solid black bearing, white sole and citrus stitching of Jordan’s magical number 23 as well as the jumpman emblazon both on the back and on the sole of the shoes.

One interesting feature of the upcoming Air Jordan IX Retro is the markings it has on its sole. It has the marking of the jumpman on the heel side which by the way, comes in citrus as well; some Chinese writing and other interesting graphics. The desire to be distinct is clearly something the designers had in mind at the time they were brainstorming for the concept.

There’s a buzz going around saying that the manufacturers will likewise release the Retro in Powder blue colorway. Now, that sure is something to look forward to!

The Air Jordan 2010 will release in February, and it will be one of the best basketball shoes performance wise. Some say that the Air Jordan 2010 will only be good indoors and not on the blacktop. Well Jordan Brand has took care of that with this Outdoor version of the Air Jordan 2010. These are slated to release in two colorways, white/black/red and black/yellow/red. The shoe features an Air Jordan VIII inspired strap, with the new 23/25 logo on the tongue. Just like the original Air Jordan 2010, I’ m really not feeling these. This is the first look at the outdoor version of the Air Jordan 2010, so stay tuned for more pics and info.

Part of the Jordan Hallowed Ground collection is the Rip Hamilton PE sneaker. Those who have been waiting and dying to get these pairs can start wearing it (of course after buying it!) by December 19.

The color way is inspired by the shades of the Detroit Pistons jersey. Such varsity scheme (white blue, and a touch of red) is truly one sneaker that you must wear for playing and even for partying after a great game.

Blue, white, then blue again. That is how Nike worked the color scheme of the shoe. Starting from the tongue of the sneaker up to the mid-sole, blue reigns the area having leather as its material. The middle area is in plain white. But check out the heel and you can see the glossy ribbed blue shaped almost like an hour glass.

Of course the infamous Mr. Jumpman should be in a different color. Something that would make it stand out from the rest of the sneaker – red.

Couple of months ago remember that we posted that Nike will be releasing the Air Jordan Force XIII before 2009 ends. Finally the long wait is over as it is already out in the market.  Try to check out Schuh You if you want to have this. And oh! Make sure that you prepare $210 for a pair of the Air Jordan line.

Looking at it, it would remind you when the first Air Jordan was unleashed. It was indeed phenomenal. However, the Air Jordan Force XIII is the innovated version since there are already minor details added on the shoe.

One of these added details is the strap that is  meant to support the ankles of the player. There are now more detailed pictures compared before so make sure that you check out the next images of th Air Jordan Force XIII. Jordan and Bulls fanatics, go get grab a pair of this!

Air Jordan is not yet done surprising us with their new releases and making us drool with their teasers. Hot news is that they recently released the Phat Low Premium which you can now buy for only $130.

No, the color ain’t devilish as they combined black body and red laces. The shades were actually inspired by one of the teams in NBA. Do you already have a guess? No, it’s not the Chicago Bulls but the Hawks from the state of Atlanta.

The whole body of the Phat Low Premium can be cleaned easily. Just a wipe here and there would already make it look like new again. But you should pay attention to the Nike swoosh (no Nike shoe will be caught dead without this of course!) since it was made from a different material. Seems like it is made from a felt material which can be stained easily when exposed in muds or puddles.

Check out the new Air Jordan 16.5 UNC Team PE. The UNC TAR Heels made a pack with Air Jordan 16.5 and created a cool sneaker for the National Championship last April  where players were lucky to receive Team Player Exclusives as North Carolina happens to be the Alma Mater of Michael Jordan.
